HOW TO APPLY
Firstly, come along to one of our Information Evenings where you can have a chance to meet tutors and students, view the College and its facilities and learn more about careers in art, design and the performing Arts. Application forms are available from February onwards, please contact feadmin@hca.ac.uk. To download our application form – please click here

INTERVIEW/AUDITION INFORMATION
Once you have returned a completed application form you will be asked to attend an interview. It is usually a one-to-one meeting, lasting about 20-30 minutes, in which we discuss your ideas and ambitions and look at your work. Bring your strongest collection of work that will demonstrate your interest and commitment. This might be drawings, models, photographs, and include work made at school or home. If you are applying to Performing Arts, you will be invited to attend a performance workshop, which will last about one hour, followed by an informal interview.

WORKSHOPS AND WORKSPACE
We aim to provide every full-time student on a studio-based course with dedicated working space or base to call their own throughout their time with us. After an induction, we give all students open access to the technical workshops, including small metals, ceramics, 3D, textiles, print, photography, multi-media, Macs and PCs.

ASSESSMENT
In the first year, projects will last 3 weeks, and will be made up of a number of smaller tasks. There will be different assessment points throughout the year, such as end-of-term, and end-of-year. In the second year, the project work for the final assessment will take the form of a final exhibition or performance, which will be externally assessed.

PROGRESSSION TO UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE
Over 80% of you will go onto University or College. Some of you may stay on and apply to one of our BA(Hons)/FdA degree courses, here at Hereford College of Arts. Wherever you decide to go, we can provide practical support and help with UCAS applications, your choices, interview technique, portfolio building and mock interviews.

EDUCATION VISITS AND TRIPS
We normally arrange trips about once a term, to visit places of interest. These include exhibitions, galleries and theatres, and act as a resource for project research.
