Hereford College of Arts is a small specialist arts college in the beautiful cathedral city of Hereford with courses spanning FE and HE,in areas ranging from art and design to media, performing arts and music. The college was founded in 1851 and has a total of about 850 students. The quality of courses is good and the college is financially strong. The college remains one of only 4 arts colleges in the FE sector, and one of only 13 specialist arts institutions throughout the UK.

Hereford College of Arts is seeking applications from individuals with both experience and passion for the arts and education willing to serve on the Board of Governors. The Board has an overall strategic role in the leadership and direction of the college, and they are the senior decision making body with responsibility for the quality, viability and continued independence of the college. Governors are also able to get more closely involved with curriculum areas through the Link Governor scheme. The college is particularly seeking individuals with good recent experience of management and leadership of arts education at HE level to support current strategic developments at the college.

Board meetings take place 6 times a year. The position is unpaid and for an initial term of 4 years which is renewable, although expenses can be claimed.

Job Title: Course Co-ordinator - Artist Blacksmithing

Hereford College of Arts is a specialist arts college offering a range of courses in art, design, media and performing arts from entry level through to undergraduate level including Foundation and Honours Degrees.

The College is seeking to appoint a highly creative and energetic Course Coordinator to work predominantly on the undergraduate degree in Artist Blacksmithing but also contribute to teaching on other modules within the Art and Design programme area.

The successful candidate will have an Honours / Post Graduate degree in a relevant discipline , and recent HE teaching experience , ideally with an active professional practice . A key requirement of the post includes the management and co-ordination and delivery of a range of modules, an ability to teach design in relation to contemporary and historical practice is essential .The post holder should have a broad knowledge of applied arts with significant expertise and practical experience in metalworking and / or blacksmithing.

Job Title: Lecturer - Graphic & Media Design

in art, design, media and performing arts from entry level through to
undergraduate level including Foundation and Honours Degrees.

The College is seeking to appoint a highly creative and experienced Lecturer to provide specialist teaching input into a range of modules within the Media
Arts Undergraduate Modular scheme specifically for students studying on the
FdA and BA (Hons) courses in Graphic and Media Design.

The successful candidate should have proven expertise and professional
experience in the field of digital and print based graphic design and ideally
should also be able to teach design theory and practice in relation to contemporary and historical practices. A degree in a relevant discipline is required and a Post Graduate qualification in Teaching is desirable.

Job Title: Administrator/Management Information Assistant
Hours:
Up to 37 hrs per week
Salary: £13,204 - £15,994 pro rata per annum

Description:
Working as part of the College’s Registry team, you will be required to deal with many aspects of the collection and maintenance of student records, including exam registrations and enrolling students as well as supporting students and lecturers with day to day queries.

You will have a good standard of education and have experience of using Microsoft Office packages, ideally including spreadsheet and word processing. You should be a good communicator, well organised, accurate and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Previous experience in this area though desirable, is not essential.

Hereford College of Arts is one of the few remaining specialist art colleges in the UK. We offer a range of courses in art, media design and performing arts from entry level through to undergraduate level including National Diploma, Foundation and Honours Degrees.

The college is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and creative individual to join our established and experienced team, delivering our National Diploma provision.

A key requirement of the post is the ability to undertake teaching across a range of subject disciplines including Art & Design, Applied Arts and Textiles.

You will be able to demonstrate good organisational and project management skills, relating to the delivery of current and future National Diploma curriculum. You will have an Honours/Post Graduate degree in a relevant discipline and have experience of initiating a range of Art & Design projects and teaching good studio practice skills. The ability to contribute to the cultural theory programme would be an advantage.
